Cassling Receives Gold Well Workplace Award
Omaha, Neb. (April 1, 2008) - Cassling Diagnostic Imaging recently was named a Gold Well Workplace by the Wellness Councils of America. The Well Workplace awards recognize companies across America for quality and excellence in worksite health promotion. Cassling will receive the Gold Well Workplace award at the 15th Annual Well Workplace Awards Luncheon and Conference on Thursday, April 24, at the Qwest Center Omaha.
Gold designations are given to organizations that have not only developed comprehensive programs, but also have demonstrated clear outcomes. Cassling's wellness program, now in its sixth year, provides employees and their families with the resources they need to lead a healthier lifestyle. Currently, 92 percent of Cassling employees participate in the company's wellness program.
In 2007, Cassling's wellness outcomes included:
- Enrolling 50 employees/spouses in a summer triathlon with more than half of participants completing all phases of the program. The triathlon encouraged participants to get at least 30 minutes of exercise at least five days per week.
- Increasing employee participation in the company 401(k) program from 85 percent to 93 percent following a financial wellness series.
Cassling's wellness program has grown from a simple employee benefit to an integral part of the company's strategic plan. As a health-care company, Cassling takes an aggressive approach to wellness with comprehensive health screens, financial support and quarterly incentives aimed at improving the health and well-being of employees and combating rising health insurance costs.
"We are proud to be recognized as one of America's healthiest companies," said President and CEO Mike Cassling. "We believe Cassling's wellness program is a great benefit for our employees and their families."
Since 1991, WELCOA has recognized companies for quality and excellence in worksite health promotion. To be considered for inclusion, companies must adhere to a rigorous set of criteria to build their programs, namely, the 7 C's of worksite wellness: capturing senior level support, creating cohesive wellness teams, collecting data to drive health efforts, crafting an operating plan, choosing appropriate interventions, creating a supportive environment and consistently evaluating outcomes.
