More than 24,900 Miles Logged by Cassling Wellness Members
Walking Incentive Takes Employees and Families “Around the World”

Omaha, Neb. (Nov. 9, 2009) – Members of Cassling’s wellness program completed their quest to walk around the world in 60 days by logging 24,949 miles from Sept. 1 to Oct. 30. The 119 participants, including 73 Cassling employees, 27 spouses and 19 children, took the necessary steps to meet the incentive goal and then some by walking 46 miles over the original 24,906-mile target.

Prior to the start of the “Walking Around the World in 60 Days” incentive, participants received pedometers to track their miles and had the option to undergo a free fitness assessment. During the 60-day period, they were asked to submit the miles they logged to help move Captain Cassling, the wellness program’s mascot, around the world. The Captain set sail on Sept. 1, and after two weeks, he made his first stop in Egypt. Three weeks later, he landed in the Marshall Islands and on Oct. 30, he arrived back home in Omaha.

To motivate employees during the incentive, prizes were awarded through random drawings as well as to the top finishers. Fitness assessments were again offered at the conclusion of the incentive to allow participants to track their progress.

Walking Around the World in 60 Days” represents Cassling’s third major wellness incentive of 2009 and is just one of the ways the company encourages its employees and their families to lead healthier lives.
