Advances in digital imaging have given technologists less control over image technique while giving computers and their associated algorithms more control over technical factors. While this can lead to higher quality images and a better overall patient experience, we must also consider what kind of impact this may ultimately have on patient safety. This presentation will investigate aspects of the computed and digital radiography experience that may have an impact on patient safety and offer techniques to prevent safety errors, particularly regarding radiation dose.
