6 Reasons Not to Miss ‘Investing in You – Omaha’

by Kyle Salem, Ph.D. on Sep 12, 2019

IIU Omaha Seminar Still Graphic-white V2Cassling will hold its annual Investing in You (IIU) educational seminar in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 1-2, and we’re excited to host imaging professionals from across the Midwest.

For those unfamiliar, this in-person event is an extension of the Investing in You continuing education program that runs throughout the year. Our monthly and on-demand webinars provide Category A CE credits from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (credits that are also accepted by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, ARDMS, as well as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT).

At this year’s Oct 1-2 seminar, a range of experts will be on hand to provide insights into the future of healthcare and the imaging field, and there will also be an opportunity to experience live equipment demonstrations, featuring the coolest innovations in imaging.

This year, we’ve extended the attendance invitation to imaging professionals throughout the country rather than just the Midwest. As a result, we expect to see a lot of new faces, and one of the questions we’ve received is if it’s worthwhile to travel hundreds of miles for a seminar.

New call-to-action

Well, call me biased, but I think the answer is definitely ‘Yes!’ Here are seven reasons you won’t want to miss this year’s Investing in You.

  1. Two Events in One, Thanks to the Siemens Mobile Mammography Truck

Investing in Her kicks off our two-day event on October 1, and it’s doing so in style with an appearance from the Siemens Healthineers Mobile Mammography Truck. This 18-wheeler travels the country providing a glimpse at the latest and most exciting women’s health diagnostic systems available to hospitals and clinics. You know the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile? It’s like that, but with mammography systems instead of hot dogs.

Attendees are invited onboard to see the MAMMOMAT Revelation, a 3D mammography (aka Breast Tomosynthesis) system that can provide sharper, more detailed images at multiple angles to aid the physician in a confident diagnosis. In addition to this system, guests will see how Automated Breast Volume Scanners (ABVS) are using ultrasound to more accurately image and diagnose women with dense breasts, how traditional ultrasound can supplement breast exams and how modern mammography workstations make both patient and technologist comfort the first priority.

Mammo truckAll this, plus two separate, mammography focused CE presentations: “3D Mammography: The Gold Standard” and “Contrast-Enhanced Mammography.” The former, presented by Pam Odino, will analyze how 3D Mammo is overtaking traditional 2D mammography thanks to its potential to impact patient outcomes and aid in earlier detection. The latter, presented by Tracy Mann, will feature an in-depth look at contrast-enhanced mammography from someone who has worked with patients and knows firsthand the benefits of this methodology.

The Siemens Mobile Mammography Truck will be available on October 2 too, but we invite all guests to attend both days’ activities in order to maximize their travel and earn the highest possible number of CE credits. Speaking of credits…

  1. 8.5 CE Credits

Radiologic technologists and diagnostic medical sonographers each have to earn a certain number of continuing education credits each year, and you can knock out eight and a half of them at our event.

These credits are in addition to the regularly updated webinar presentations added to the Cassling website on a regular basis. All told, you should be able to easily meet your Category A CE requirements by taking advantage of the free resources provided by Cassling.

But it’s not just the credits themselves that are worthwhile. The topics tackled speak to some of the most important happenings in the healthcare and imaging world (more on those in a bit), plus there’s an array of presentations dedicated to ensuring wellness in a clinical setting.

  1. Networking Opportunities

Although we’re pretty proud of our content lineup, one of the best reasons to attend Investing in You this October is to meet like-minded imaging and healthcare professionals.

There will be ample time during both the evening event on October 1 and the all-day seminar on October 2 to catch up with old friends in the profession and make brand new connections. People from all levels of healthcare typically attend IIU, including technologists, sonographers, radiology managers, physicians, executives and more. Plenty of our attendees walk away with new insights and opportunities that come directly from their fellow guests, and sometimes these can be just as impactful as the presentations themselves.

  1. Hands-On Equipment Demonstrations

We mentioned the equipment that will be available on the Siemens Mobile Mammography Truck, but it bears repeating that this won’t be just a one-sided affair where you’re being talked at. Not only will you learn about how things like ABVS and Tomosynthesis are providing a complete rethink of the traditional clinical workflow, but you’ll be able to actually walk right up to the equipment, see how it works and even get a hands-on preview of the very systems you could be using sooner rather than later.

New Call-to-action

We invite you to stop by at some point during the two-day seminar in order to see for yourself if these systems will be the right fit for your facility and workflow.

  1. Hear from Customers Just Like You

One of the educational presentations I’m most excited about this year is our Customer Panel. We’ve invited a few of our customers to come and talk about the things they see happening every day in their clinics, what’s changed in their work over the past few years, and what they see as the future of the field.

They’ll be speaking from their own firsthand experience about a number of topics that have (or will soon have) a direct impact on your job. I’m thrilled to hear from some of the top minds in imaging, and I look forward to unveiling the full panel lineup soon.

  1. Experience the Future of Imaging

Finally, one other presentation I absolutely have to address is the Imaging Market Update presented by the Advisory Board’s Stuart Clark.

For those who attended last year, you may remember Stuart providing a similar in-depth discussion. It proved to be one of our most popular presentations, and we decided to invite him back to give yet another update.

In the healthcare field, things evolve at a breakneck pace. Just when you think you have a handle on the regulatory landscape, clinical best practices or technological innovation, something comes along that throws everything into disarray. You have to be very comfortable with change as a healthcare expert, and Stuart will offer a guide to what’s happened in the recent past and, even more importantly, use the Advisory Board’s in-depth, unmatched expertise to draw logical conclusions about the changes we can expect to see in the very near future.

I’ll See You In Omaha

Investing in You is just a few weeks away, and I’m excited to show you everything we have planned. Register here if you haven’t done so already, and please let us know if you have any questions whatsoever.

We’re here to help you succeed, and one of the ways we hope to achieve that is through educational events like these. I’ll see you in Omaha!
