Aanal Shah is a doctorate-prepared, board-certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of cardiovascular experience. She currently serves at a Medical Science Liaison at Echo IQ, where she bridges clinical expertise with emerging technologies to advance cardiovascular diagnosis and outcomes. Passionate about patient-centered care and early intervention, she partners with clinicians to support informed decision-making and improved patient outcomes.

Overview:
This presentation offers a basic introduction to theranostics with a focus on what it is and how it works. You will learn how personalized patient care works with regards to theranostics and explore some of the different processes a cancer patient may go through with treatment. We will discuss current methods used and provide an outlook of what to expect in the world of Molecular Imaging in the coming years.

About the Speaker:
Kerri Shanahan, BS, CMNT, ARRT(N) is the Molecular Imaging Hybrid CT/Workflow Product Manager at Siemens Healthineers. She holds a Bachelors in Diagnostic Imaging from Northern Arizona University. With a strong background as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist who utilized SPECT, SPECTCT, and PETCT products, she has aided in educating other technologists throughout the US over the past four years. Her clinical experiences and education have helped provide optimal imaging and grow the new imaging expectations for theranostics.

About the Speaker:
Ty Aderhold serves as Advisory Board's lead expert on the issue of digital inequity and digital consumer experience. His team researches the latest advancements in digital health from a cross-industry perspective, focusing on the latest strategies from providers, payers, big tech, and digital health vendors. He has authored numerous pieces on the subject and presented his work at HLTH, AHIP Digital, and CHIME. Ty has also led the digital health team's research into big tech and retail moves into healthcare, creating key pieces of thought leadership on the current and potential future moves of Amazon, CVS, Google, and others.
In a previous role at Advisory Board, Ty led a research team dedicated to imaging and radiology. Ty graduated from Harvard University with a BA in the history of science. In his spare time, he serves as the head coach of of the DC Shadow, a professional women's Ultimate team based in Washington, DC.

From the board room to the bedside, improving access to care and enhancing patient outcomes is the ultimate goal for imaging professionals. But the road to get there is not one-size-fits-all. This session will feature best practices highlighting the extraordinary work of imaging teams to improve quality, access, safety, staff morale and even community engagement - sourced by finalists for Cassling's inaugural Imaging for Impact Award!
Participants will hear lessons from a variety of healthcare organizations, including a health system, academic medical center and critical access hospital. Strategies will include overcoming workforce challenges, providing patient-centered care for diverse populations and expanding care to underserved populations.

- Learn strategies to improve the MRI patient experience for diverse patient populations, including: enhancing MRI communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing patients; and improving MRI patient safety and respecting cultural norms for Muslim patients.
- Discuss strategic recruitment efforts to boost staff capabilities, capacity and morale, including: a high school program to build a pipeline of future technologists; a leadership initiative to engage rad tech students and reduce dropout rates; and a trainee initiative to enhance the onboarding process and decrease first year turnover.
- Learn strategies to launch a mobile mammography service to expand the reach of breast cancer screening to underserved patients, including how to overcome significant barriers to care, such as transportation, scheduling conflicts, and lack of awareness and education in rural communities.

Engagement and retention go hand in hand. Addressing attrition in your imaging department's workforce requires patience, forethought and a willingness to provide flexibility to your staff.
In this presentation, we'll examine strategies for ensuring your highest performers ultimately become your longest-tenured employees. In particular, we'll look at the role recognition, continuing education and leadership play in creating an engaged and long-lasting imaging team, as well as present creative ways to reward team members for their loyalty and hard work.

Dax Godkin is the lead technologist for research in the vascular lab at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Dax is also the long-time president of the Northern Ohio Vascular Association, which offers CME opportunities for medical professionals. Dax truly enjoys public speaking and educating and has presented at many conferences over the years.
