Cox’s involvement in the organization stems from his belief in bringing awareness to cardiovascular disease. During his two-year term, he will serve on fundraising committees such as the Wichita Heart Ball, Start!, American Heart Walk, Go Red and/or a Health Initiatives committee.
The American Heart Association’s mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Major cardiovascular diseases including stroke are America’s number one killer. They claim more lives than the next four causes of death combined, which include cancer, chronic lower respiratory diseases, accidents and Alzheimer’s disease.
In addition to his role with America Heart Association Board of Directors, Cox serves on the board of directors for the Hesston Recreation Commission.
