    Mike Cassling Honored with UNL Alumni Award

    Omaha, Neb. (May 12, 2010) – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Alumni Association honored Mike Cassling, President and CEO of Cassling, at its annual Alumni Awards Banquet held on May 7, at the Nebraska Champions Club in Lincoln.

    Mike received the 2010 Alumni Achievement Award. The award was established in 1974 to honor alumni who have a record of outstanding achievements in a career and/or civic involvement.

    His nominator said “Mike Cassling is an exemplary business leader with a constant desire to work to help the community around him.”

    Mike received accounting and marketing degrees from UNL in 1986 and earned a graduate degree from Syracuse University in 1992. He joined the sales team at Cassling in 1985 and served as vice president of sales and marketing before being appointed president in 1996.

    Under his leadership, Cassling earned the Gold Well Workplace Award as well as the 2008 Omaha Chamber of Commerce Business in Excellence Award. He is active in the Omaha community, and serves Chairman of the Salvation Army Board of Directors and is a past president of the Millard Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors.
