In the U.S., projected career growth for radiologic technologists between 2022 and 2032 is 6%, suggesting 16,000 job openings each year. By investing in the next generation of radiology professionals, each $4,000 scholarship is part of how Cassling strengthens community healthcare. We see these scholarships as more than just financial support; they’re a message to students that their dreams, efforts and passion matter.
Administered by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation, this year’s scholarships were awarded to two individuals who are already making significant strides in their careers and communities.
For Anthony, a certified radiologic technologist pursuing his B.S. in Radiologic Science, the scholarship is personal and inspiring.
“When I wrote my essay to you, I didn’t realize it would lead to an amazing contribution to my field of study,” Anthony shared. “I am so elated and humbled to have this honor bestowed upon me. I hope that by sharing my experience, I can inspire others to seek out and follow their dreams.”
Laura, who is attending Mayo Clinic’s Radiation Therapy School, said the award was a turning point in her academic journey.
“I cannot describe just how meaningful this generous award is to my educational journey, but I can try,” she said. “At the root of my aspirations is my desire to have a deeper role in patient care within radiology, and this scholarship will help me achieve that.”
Laura explained that the support would allow her to transition back into school without the pressure of juggling multiple jobs.
“This will allow me to better focus on my studies and will make me a more confident and skilled student.”
We know that the pursuit of a career in healthcare isn’t easy. It takes hard work, sacrifice and compassion. The Bob Cassling Memorial Scholarship is just one way we seek to remove barriers and support those who will one day be at the forefront of patient care.
We congratulate Anthony, Laura and the 79 other deserving recipients of medical imaging and radiation scholarships awarded through the ASRT Foundation, which totaled more than $300,000 for the 2025-2026 academic year. We’re honored to be a part of their journey.
Students and professionals who want to learn more about the scholarships or stay updated for next year’s application windows should visit the ASRT's website.
