Overview:
Most radiologic technologists will perform routine radiographic exams hundreds if not thousands of times by the ends of their careers. But while this creates a level of habit for some exams, what about the non-routine, specialized exams that are crucial for aiding physician diagnosis in unique patient cases?
This presentation will provide a review of various non-routine radiographic exams and their importance to the patient care process. It will highlight how to strengthen the “imaging muscles” you don’t get to use every day, with insights into alignment, positioning, evaluation criteria and more.
Learning Objectives
Identify reasons a physician would order certain non-routine radiographic exams
Describe details related to X-ray beam/part/receptor alignment for non-routine radiographic exams
