This presentation will discuss the diverse Limited English Proficient (LEP) population and statistics on the languages spoken throughout the country. Participants will learn what defines an LEP person/patient and what protections and resources are in place for them to receive high-quality healthcare in their primary language.
We’ll review the qualifications of a trained medical interpreter and weigh the pros and cons of using one. The presentation will also discuss communication tips and tricks with some radiology department-specific examples.
