Overview:
In this Cassling Leadership Institute session, we will focus on ways to be bold in wellness and resilience – individually and as a team. This courage-building time will have us thinking about these topics in new ways. You will be given the opportunity to reflect and apply the concept of wellness to your own life and learn how it impacts your resilience. In addition, we will examine and apply the concepts of empathy, shame triggers and shields and gain an understanding of how to practice a wholehearted approach to your professional and personal lives. Finally, the session will end in a short meditation that you can use on a regular basis to help boost both your wellness and resilience.
Learning Objectives
Define wellness and engage in an activity to connect with your own wellness
Recognize the concept of resilience and understand how it relates to shame
Distinguish a connection with emotions and apply empathy to wellness
Use meditation techniques to build wellness

Kristina Faimon, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Clinical Counseling; Bellevue University
Dr. Faimon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of experience in clinical, teaching, and community work. She received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Wyoming. Dr. Faimon had the pleasure of studying with Dr. Brené Brown and is certified in the Daring Way.
