Cardiac Tissue Strain: Basics & Beyond

Tissue strain analysis could represent one of the most important developments in ultrasound technology since the advent of Doppler imaging. It complements conventional ultrasound exams by providing another dimension of diagnostic information—mechanical stiffness of tissue. This additional information can be combined with anatomical (B-mode) as well as vascular (Doppler) information to provide a measure of tissue deformation.
