Long-time Field Service Engineer Duane Losh Receives Service Excellence Award

by Cassling on Mar 15, 2024

Duane Losh - Bob Cassling Award 2024-1Last August, Field Service Engineer Duane Losh celebrated 35 years of dedicated service. As one of Cassling’s longest-tenured employees, Duane is a true pioneer of “The Cassling Way” and an embodiment of the organization’s culture. These qualities made Duane an ideal recipient of the 2024 Bob Cassling Service Excellence Award.

The award, created in 2015, recognizes employees who go above and beyond in exemplifying the organization’s culture and commitment to providing world-class service. Established in memory of our founder, Bob Cassling, it is a fitting honor for Duane, who keeps Bob’s memory alive by sharing stories about him and the company’s earliest days.“Early on, we had good examples of honesty, integrity, and good business practices set for us by Bob Cassling, Ken Vetter, Gene Lighthart, Jim Shook and Ken Sullivan, just to mention a few,” said Losh. “At the start of Cassling, everyone was on call for one week out of the year. It was in alphabetical order which meant Bob Cassling‘s name was the second one on the list. He taught me what it means to provide great service, so it is a true honor to receive this award.”

Bob established Cassling’s culture, but it lives on through Duane and his unrelenting passion for delivering top-notch service, as observed by both his colleagues and leadership.

“As one of the first Field Service Engineers in Omaha, Duane has seen a lot of change and growth in Cassling during his years with the company,” said Tim Elder, Regional Service Manager. “He genuinely cares about doing the right thing. He consistently serves with honesty and integrity. I've seen this firsthand as an FSE and now as a manager. About 20 years ago when I started with Cassling, Duane took the time to teach and show me ‘The Cassling Way’. He continues to do this with our new FSEs.”

“Duane takes great pride in taking care of our customers and always goes the unexpected next step,” said Kyle Salem, PhD, President and CEO of Cassling. “His ability to build trusting relationships is part of why he’s been so successful over the past 35 years. The example he has set for our Field Service Engineers ensures that Cassling will continue to provide an unmatched level of service.”

“This award was created to recognize outstanding employees like Duane,” said Mike Cassling, Chairman of Cassling. “His systems expertise, paired with an earnest desire to serve customers and impact patient lives, make him an invaluable asset to the organization. It was a privilege to present him with the award in my father’s honor.”

Congratulations to Duane on this much-deserved recognition!
