Stellar detector with integrated electronics, coupled with spectral tin filters previously available only on the most advanced single- and dual-source CT scanners are included as standard. For vascular imaging, the Chronon and Athlon tubes are designed to deliver the scanner’s highest possible mA at the lowest kV (High Power 70 or High Power 80 modes), which uses a low 70 kV or 80 kV tube voltage with the scanner’s highest mA to potentially reduce radiation dose and optimize usage of iodine contrast.
Users control routine examinations using only the tablet and remote, paving the way for a new, mobile workflow. Standardized work steps allow users to run the scan with just a few inputs. Automated post-processing facilitates efficient operation with zero-click reconstruction tasks that enable technologists with wide-ranging proficiency to generate consistent, high-quality studies. Standardization also provides greater assurance regarding diagnostic image quality, avoiding errors and repeat scans, and unnecessary wait times.
Computer hardware formerly located in the control room is integrated into the gantry, enabling the systems to be installed in one room with a minimum size requirement. Shielded niche can sufficiently protect radiology staff. In addition to reducing installation costs, the system aims to improve patient experience — especially for small children — allowing them to undergo a scan without being left alone in the room.
